To prevent damage to your charger and risk of shock, always
unplug the AC/DC adapter from the AC outlet before you unplug
it from the charger.
1. Insert the battery connector of the bat-
tery pack you want to charge into the
charging jack.
Note:
If the connector does not fit, turn it
over and try again. Do not force it.
2. If you charge only one battery pack, you
can insert it into either
CHANNEL 1
or
CHANNEL 2
.
You can insert two 7.2V, two 9.6V, or one 7.2V and one 9.6V Ni-
Cd or Ni-MH battery packs into the charger. If you insert both
battery packs into the charger before plugging in the charger,
the charger charges the battery pack in Channel 1 first, then the
one in Channel 2. If you insert the battery packs after the
charger is plugged in, the charger charges the battery pack that
was inserted first, then charges the other one.
3. Insert the adapter’s barrel plug into the DC jack on the back of
the charger, then plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet.
Caution:
You must use a Class 2 power source that
supplies 12V DC and delivers at least 1200 mA. Its
center tip must be set to positive and its plug must fit
the charger's
12V DC
jack. The supplied adapter meets these
specifications. Using an adapter that does not meet these spec-
ifications could damage the charger or the adapter.
You can also power the charger by vehicle power, using a ciga-
rette-lighter plug cable, RadioShack Catalog Number 270-1533
or 270-1534 (not supplied, available at your local RadioShack
store). Insert the cable’s barrel plug into the DC jack of the
charger, then insert the cigarette-lighter plug into your vehicle’s
cigarette lighter socket.
Notes:
It is normal for the batteries to become warm while charging.
The indicator for the channel you are using lights when the
battery pack is charging and automatically turns off when the
battery pack finishes charging.
If the indicator flashes, check the battery connection. If it still
flashes, the battery pack might need to be replaced. Try
charging a different battery pack. If the charger still does not
work, take it to your local RadioShack store for assistance.
4. When the indicators turn off, unplug the adapter from the AC
outlet, or unplug the cigarette-lighter plug from vehicle power,
then unplug the barrel plug from the charger’s DC jack. Then
disconnect the battery packs.
CARE
Keep the charger dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Use and
store the charger only in normal temperature environments. Handle
the charger carefully; do not drop it. Keep the charger away from
dust and dirt, and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it
looking new.
Modifying or tampering with the charger’s internal components can
cause a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty. If your charg-
er is not performing as it should, take it to your local RadioShack
store for assistance.
