Operation

When a Test or Demo Alert Occurs

The NWS sends out daily and weekly test signals you

can use to confirm that your Weatheradio is working

properly. To find out the specific test schedule in your

area, contact your local NOAA or NWS office. See

“Enabling/Disabling the Alert Tone” on Page 18 for

more information. When the Weatheradio’s alert func-

tion is turned on and the Weatheradio receives a test

broadcast for a FIPS code you programmed into its

memory, it responds in one of these ways:
