Troubleshooting

Problem Cause Solution

Scanner is on

but will not

scan.

Squelch is not

adjusted correctly.

Adjust squelch.

Only one channel

or no channels are

stored.

Store frequencies

into more than one

channel.

Scanner does

not turn on.

Batteries are

discharged.

Recharge the

rechargeable

batteries or replace

the non-rechargeable

batteries.

The AC adapter is

not connected

Be sure the adapter’s

barrel plug is fully

plugged into the

jack.

Scanner

keypad

doesn’t work.

The keylock

function is

activated.

To turn off the

keylock, press Func

+ KEYLOCK. Keypad

unlocked appears.

ﬂashing.

Batteries are low. Recharge the

rechargeable

batteries or replace

the alkaline batteries.

Poor or no

reception.

Batteries are weak

or completely

discharged.

Check the batteries

or make sure the AC

adapter is connected

properly.

Antenna is loose. Make sure an

antenna is connected

to the scanner.

Invalid Freq.

Programming

Re-enter the

frequency or number
